Turnkey Manufacturing for Industrial Equipment
HFW manufactures shafts, housings, rolls, sleeves, and custom industrial components, with coating, grinding, and inspection in one facility.
One-Source Manufacturing
When a New Part Is the Better Answer
HFW Industries manufactures precision industrial components from bar stock, forgings, castings, and customer-supplied material. When OEM parts are discontinued, lead times are unacceptable, or a design needs to last longer in service, HFW can fully manufacture a replacement.
Manufacturing at HFW connects precision machining, thermal spray coatings, hardfacing and weld overlay, precision grinding, assembly, and inspection under one ISO 9001:2015 quality program.

What We Manufacture
Industrial Components HFW Manufactures
Whether you need a direct OEM replacement where the original is unavailable, a redesigned part where the original wore too quickly, or a custom component built to a drawing for a new or modified application, HFW can help.
Turbine, Generator & Compressor Shafts
New turbine shafts, generator shafts, compressor shafts, pump shafts, mixer shafts, piston rods, and tie rods manufactured from customer-supplied or HFW-furnished material.
Bearing & Seal Housings
Precision-bored housings, specialty housings for chemical process equipment, bearing carriers, seal retainers, and custom configurations machined complete.
Sleeves, Collars & Wear Inserts
Shaft sleeves, interference-fit collars, replaceable wear inserts, and precision-fit components where dimensional control is critical.
Centrifuge Bowls & Barrels
Centrifuge components manufactured from corrosion-resistant alloys, often with HVOF or chrome carbide coatings applied and ground to final diameter before shipment.
Precision Rolls & Process Equipment
Precision rolls for chemical, specialty fiber, paper, pulp, metals, and processing lines. Machined, coated, and precision ground to the required surface finish.
Mixer & Agitator Components
New mixer shafts, agitator assemblies, paddles, screws, and impeller hubs manufactured with corrosion and wear resistance designed into the component.
Marine & Propulsion Components
Shaft components, propulsion hardware, and precision parts for domestic shipbuilding and marine service where machining and coating must meet tight tolerance requirements.
Turnkey Equipment Builds
Complete capital equipment builds managed in one facility, with manufacturing, coating, grinding, assembly, balancing, hydrotesting, cleaning, blasting, and inspection.
The One-Source Advantage
Coating and Grinding Planned from the First Cut
When a component is manufactured in one shop and coated or ground somewhere else, coating allowances and surface finish requirements have to be communicated across vendors. Errors compound. Schedules slip. Accountability gets cloudy.
HFW eliminates that gap by planning the full manufacturing sequence before the first cut. Machining stock is set for coating thickness. Coating thickness is planned for grinding allowance. Grinding targets are confirmed against the final print. The inspection method matches the application.

When to Manufacture New
OEM part is unavailable or long lead time
HFW can review drawings or develop a manufacturing plan from the part and application when documentation is missing.
The original design wore too quickly
HFW can redesign the wear zone, specify a more durable coating or material, and build the improved version with better service life.
The new part needs coating from the start
A shaft, roll, sleeve, or housing can leave HFW manufactured, coated, ground, inspected, and documented.

A Look Inside Our Plant

Manufacturing Workflow
One Facility. One Quality System. One Team Responsible for Performance.
A manufactured component that includes coating and grinding requires more planning than a standard machine job. HFW builds that plan before the first cut so coating and tolerance requirements are locked in early.
Review Drawings and Requirements
HFW reviews the print, material specification, tolerance requirements, coating requirements, surface finish, inspection criteria, and timeline. If drawings are missing, HFW can evaluate the part and application to develop the manufacturing plan.
Source or Receive Material
Material is sourced to specification or received from the customer. Mill certs, traceability, and incoming inspection are documented before machining begins.
Machine to Near-Final Size
CNC turning, milling, boring, 5-axis machining, or conventional machining establishes the geometry. Coating allowance and grinding stock are built into the target dimensions.
Apply Coating or Hardfacing
HVOF, plasma spray, arc spray, PTA hardfacing, or weld overlay is applied to specified surfaces. Masking, surface preparation, and coating thickness are controlled to the plan.
Grind to Final Dimension and Finish
Cylindrical OD grinding, ID grinding, surface grinding, honing, or superfinishing brings the part to final tolerance, surface finish, and runout condition.
Inspect, Document, and Assemble
Dimensional inspection, CMM support, surface finish verification, EMRO testing when required, final QC signoff, and assembly support before shipment.

Quality & Documentation
Quality Standards for New Components
HFW is ISO 9001:2015 certified, maintains two temperature-controlled inspection labs, and uses more than 800 gauges calibrated to NIST 2540-1 and ISO-10012 standards. Every manufactured part runs through the same documented quality system as repair and coating work.
For manufactured rotating components, HFW can perform electrical-mechanical runout inspection to verify that new shafts and journals will interact correctly with proximity probes and vibration monitoring systems in the field.

FAQ
Turnkey Manufacturing Questions
Can HFW manufacture new turbine and compressor shafts?+
Yes. HFW manufactures new turbine shafts, compressor shafts, generator shafts, pump shafts, and related rotating components. Customers can supply material, or HFW can furnish material and manufacture the shaft complete.
Can HFW manufacture a replacement for a discontinued OEM part?+
Yes. If a drawing is available, HFW can quote directly from it. If no drawing exists, HFW can evaluate the part and application, recover critical dimensions, and develop a manufacturing approach.
Can HFW apply a coating to a new part before it goes into service?+
Yes. Customers can specify HVOF tungsten carbide, chrome carbide, ceramic, or hardfacing on new components so wear resistance is built in from the start. HFW manufactures, coats, and grinds new parts as one workflow.
Need a New Part Built Right the First Time?
Send HFW your drawing, worn sample, or part description. We will help determine the right material, coating, and tolerance for the application.
