Turnkey After-Market Solutions: Industrial Equipment Repair

HFW is your one-source solution for restoring shafts, housings, pumps, mixers, rotating equipment, and other heavy industrial equipment. We provide timely repairs for emergency jobs without sacrificing quality.

When critical equipment fails, speed matters. Bad repairs fail faster.

HFW Industries helps reliability engineers and maintenance teams repair, rebuild, or remanufacture industrial components correctly the first time using a one-source model that eliminates vendor handoffs and shortens downtime.

We support emergency repairs and planned rebuilds across power generation, turbomachinery, oil and gas, chemical processing, and other industries with thermal spray coatings, welding, machining, precision grinding, and inspection in one facility.

If you need shaft repair, bearing housing repair, pump component rebuild, mixer or agitator repair, turbine shaft refurbishment, or OEM-quality remanufacturing, you are in the right place.

Why Repairs Fail Early and How We Fix It

Industrial repairs can fail when too many vendors touch the part.If welding, coating, machining, grinding, and inspection are split across multiple shops:

  • Tolerances drift
  • Documentation fragments
  • Accountability blurs

HFW removes those variables.

What One-Source Repair Actually Looks Like

  1. Inspection and measurement of wear, distortion, runout, and cracking
  2. Clear work scope including repair versus build new with cost and lead time tradeoffs
  3. Engineered restoration using thermal spray or weld overlay
  4. Machining and precision grinding back to final tolerance
  5. Final inspection and documentation
  6. Assembly support when required

One facility. One quality system. One team responsible for performance.

Repair vs Build New? We Provide Answers

Repair is often faster and cheaper but not always.

We recommend building new when:

  • Base metal condition is compromised
  • Prior repairs have reduced remaining service life
  • Distortion or geometry makes repair risky
  • Material availability and lead time favor new manufacture

Because HFW provides both manufacturing and remanufacturing, our recommendations are based on uptime and total cost, not departmental bias.

What We Repair:

Common Industrial Repairs

  • Shaft repair and journal restoration including wear, corrosion, and runout
  • Bearing housing repair and internal diameter correction
  • Seal diameter rebuilds and sleeves
  • Pump shafts and pump housings
  • Valve discs, seats, stems, and wear surfaces
  • Mixer and agitator components
  • Roll repair and reconditioning
  • Rotor assemblies and turbomachinery components

Integrated In-House Services

  • Thermal spray coatings including HVOF, plasma, arc, and spray and fuse
  • Hardfacing and weld overlay including PTA, TIG, MIG, and submerged arc
  • CNC and manual machining
  • Precision grinding and finishing with tolerances to 0.0002 inches
  • Assembly and inspection support

Case Example: 75% Faster Assembly at One Third the Cost

A chemical processing customer faced replacing high-value alloy housings worn beyond specification.

HFW engineered a repair:

  • Removed the damaged section
  • Fabricated and welded a custom insert
  • Re-machined the housing to original specifications

Result: approximately one third the cost of replacement.

We then redesigned the housing with replaceable wear inserts, reducing assembly time from eight hours to two.

This is repair treated as engineering, not patchwork.

Some Key Industries We Support

  • Chemical Processing and Plastics: mixers, pumps, centrifuges, and rolls
  • Power Generation: turbine shafts, rotors, valves, and housings
  • Oil and Gas and Refining: compressor components, seal housings, and pistons
  • Turbomachinery: high-speed rotating equipment where finish and runout matter

Why Engineers Choose HFW

  • One-source accountability with no finger pointing
  • Precision with tight fits and controlled finishes
  • Speed with fewer handoffs and faster turnaround
  • Judgment with honest repair versus new decisions
  • Experience with more than seventy-five years in high-reliability industries

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer emergency industrial equipment repair?

Yes. Many HFW projects are time-sensitive. Our one-source model reduces turnaround by eliminating outside vendor delays.

Can you restore worn shafts and bearing journals to OEM size?

Yes. We rebuild worn diameters using thermal spray or weld overlay, then machine and grind to final tolerance.

Do you repair pump shafts and pump housings?

Yes. Including seal areas, bearing fits, and corrosion-damaged sections.

Do you repair mixers and agitators for chemical plants?

Yes. We repair shafts, wear surfaces, seal fits, and components requiring coatings and precision finishing.

How do you decide between thermal spray and weld overlay?

We base the decision on load, temperature, wear mechanism, chemistry, and distortion risk. We explain the tradeoffs before proceeding.

Can you manufacture a new part instead of repairing it?

Yes. In some cases, building new is more economical or reliable. HFW provides both options.

How do I request a quote quickly?
