On this Fourth of July weekend, my mind has been drawn to the businesses that make up the fabric of America: the companies, large and small, that enable the way we live but that often operate in the background.
These are the businesses I love most, and HFW Industries, Inc. certainly fits within that realm.
You won’t see the product of our work on the shelves of Target or on the streets on your commute to work.
But it is companies like HFW that form the basis of the way we live.
Our business, and millions of businesses like us, employ hundreds of millions of people across the United States.
Collectively, the men and women that comprise these companies build, power and repair our amazing country. It is not always the sexiest work (although myself and a growing group of people are trying to change that—DaVon France being one of them), but it is essential and keeps our country running.
It is easy to take this work for granted because we don’t know life without it. But rest assured, our country can’t survive without machinists, welders, pipelayers, masons, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, excavators, truck drivers… the list goes on and on.
The backbone of our country may seem hidden from view, but if you look closely, it’s often in plain sight. It is these people and businesses that keep our country running, and I am grateful for every one of them.
Happy Fourth of July!
