Internal Diameter (ID) Grinding

A niche within a niche, ID grinding is a specialty craft and service. Peter, one of our ID grinding masters, has been honing his skill for decades, the last 8 years being at HFW.

Much of the work we receive requires inner diameter work of tight tolerances within 0.0002". When accuracy and surface finish are paramount, precision grinding is often superior to machining.

In general, we have internal diameter grinding capabilities for parts ranging from 1” to 36” ID with a 24” stroke (though part geometry can influence capacity).

ID grinding is yet another way we provide One Source Solutions for our customers. By leveraging our workforce's depth of experience and breadth of skill, we can tackle the toughest jobs thrown our way.
