Forging strong partnerships with our customers is a key part of HFW Industries’ business philosophy. Beyond our one-source manufacturing and repair services, HFW is an innovator. 

Through the close relationships we form with our customers, we’ve developed customized solutions that have saved them millions of dollars in materials and labor costs.

We are a big believer in on-site meetings with our customers. In one instance, an HFW salesperson saw housings laying on a skid while walking through our customer’s factory. The customer said the equipment, made from an expensive alloy, had to be scrapped. Our salesperson offered to have HFW take a closer look at the housings to see if we could salvage them, so the customer agreed to send them to our plant.

After analysis and discussions with our partner, HFW formulated a repair plan: we would cut out the damaged part of the housing, fabricate an insert, weld it in place, and re-machine it.

This repair was a third of the price of a new part. It also led to HFW working hand-in-hand with the customer to design the next generation of housings. The new design involved HFW manufacturing housings in which the “wear area” could be replaced by unscrewing a side of the housing to bolt in inserts. The customer could then continue to use the housing.

Key Result: Not only was our original repair one third of the cost of the price of a new part, but our design for the next generation of housings cut the assembly time for each housing from 8 hours down to 2 hours (to bolt and insert).
