December 30, 20242024: A Year in Review
Highlights from across the company
2024 was a busy year for HFW Industries, with new employees, new equipment, and new challenges to tackle. A particular focus this year was recruiting and mentoring the next generation of skilled tradespeople through partnerships with Orleans Niagara BOCES and Edge Factor. There is a significant need to raise awareness for careers in machining and other manufacturing jobs, and we’ve been working to make it happen.
Do you know anyone interested in the trades in Western New York or beyond? (We help with relocation!) Please consider putting them in contact with us to see if a career at HFW could be right for them.
Here are some other HFW highlights from 2024:
- In January, we introduced a Haas UMC 750, a 5-axis machine that will enable us to improve our precision, reduce turnaround times due to fewer setups, and make jobs more cost efficient.
- In July, we introduced a CNC cylindrical grinder, which will allow us to achieve tight tolerances, lower lead times for our customers, and boost grinding capacity.
- In 2024, we made additions to our engineering and machining teams, as well as onboarded a new CNC supervisor. Additionally, our spray shop supervisor recently celebrated being an HFW employee for 25 years! Referrals for prospective employees, whether they are machinists, engineers, or sales representatives, are always appreciated.
- This year we attended the Eastern Gas Compression Roundtable (EGCR), MINExpo INTERNATIONAL, and Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia. Stay tuned for which shows we plan to visit in 2025.
As HFW Industries approaches 78 years in business, I’m proud of our team for establishing the company as an innovative, reliable, and one-source manufacturer and rebuilder of precision industrial equipment. We’re excited to see what 2025 has in store. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday season and new year!
